Girl Scouts Troop #8059 will be meeting on the First and Third Tuesday of every month, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Fanning Church

Please bring 50c for dues at each meeting.
This year the Daisy and Brownie Groups will be going on Journeys.
Each girl will receive a journey book at the September 20th meeting at the Troy City Park.
If you have did not have the opportunity to come to our registration meeting, it is not too late for your girl to join! Just contact Rebecca Stephenson, and you can get all set up! Registration fee is $12 and the Journey book cost $7.
At our registration meeting, we passed around sign-up sheets for troop t-shirts.
They will be kelly green and have peace sign, heart and GS 100th anniv. logo on the front in white. Our troop number will be on the back.
The cost for girls is $4 and for adults $8.

UNIFORMS
I will be ordering uniforms this week! I need to have the following questions answered before I can order your girl's uniform.

If you upgrade to a vest, then your patches from last year will have to be removed and reapplied.

This information will be used to purchase uniforms for the September 20th meeting.
You will be required to iron or sew on the patches after the meeting. I will post iron-on instructions on our website.
If you did not make it to the registration meeting, it is not too late. Just contact Rebecca Stephenson, and give her this information.

Community Service Project
Please join us on September 17 for a morning of community service!
We will be putting our rakes and gardening gloves to work, cleaning up the Troy City
Raking leaves
Spreading mulch
Pulling weeds
Picking up trash
Be sure to fill out a permission slip and bring it along with you!
Passport to Your Girl Scout Journey 100th Anniversary Kickoff Event
What: Kickoff our 100th anniversary year at the Kansas City Zoo! In addition to all of the great animals, girls can discover Girl Scout history, the Journeys, the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting and more. The zoo will also be offering animal talks and other special activities for our girls. Plan on joining us for the fun day and celebrating a milestone in our Girl Scout history!
Date/Time: October 1, 2011
The Kansas City Zoo will be open normal hours but Girl Scout activities will be held from 10:00 – 3:00.
Who: Everyone in your family is invited.
Our troop will be registering as families.
Cost:
Adults - $10
Children - $10
The cost includes admission. For children, it includes a patch and Girl Scout activities. The children’s rate is for Girl Scout and siblings who want to complete the Girl Scout activities. Everyone that is participating in the Girl Scout activities will receive a wristband and passport to activities.
Friends of the Zoo- $5 for Girl Scout activities and patch only.
Registration:
Families and Troops will be able to purchase tickets at the gates during the event. However we are really encouraging everyone to pre-register as it will cut down on lines at the zoo. Registration packets will be available for pickup at the zoo. Each family will complete one form and the packet will be listed under the girl’s name.
Caravan:
Feel free to meet the troop at the Troy Armory at 8:30 a.m. and we can caravan down to the zoo together.
