One Big Blessing~Troy City Park

This morning, a group of our 8059 girls gathered,
along with a few parents and brothers, and blessed
the Troy City Park with two hours of hard work.

This park could really use some love.

Last year our troop decided that this park would be a great community service project.
This morning we gave it some of our love and attention.  We cleaned inside and around the shelter house.  We picked up large sticks from all around the park.  We collected bags of trash.  We weeded a flower bed, cleaned up a horse shoe pit, and cleaned up under picnic tables.

It turns out that cleaning up the park is more fun
than we expected.
It also turns out that little girls
really can make the world a better place
(so can moms, dads and brothers).

See this group of kiddos?

The ones with dirty hands and knees.
Well, they make this Girl Scout Troop Leader PROUD.
Really Proud.

Super Proud.

Do you see the smiles on these faces?
Well, I promise it is not all about the hot cocoa and cupcakes they are snacking on.  Although, I am sure those two things made the day just a tiny bit more special, I can promise you that those smiles are so big and bright because these kiddos know that they made a difference today.
They gave our park some love today!  Today they gave the park One Big Blessing!

So, if you find yourself reading this post, and you are not already a part of Girl Scout Troop 8059's community service project, then do yourself a favor and give some love to a park sometime soon.

Parks are an important part of our communities.  They offer places for children to play, families to connect with nature and each other and communities to connect through sporting events, picnics and gatherings.  There are so many things that you can do, big and little.  Stop by and pick up a few sticks or make a monetary donation.  Pick up a handful of trash or stop by to mow and weed eat.
I promise that when you are done...

...you will SMILE!

Because you just made the world a better place!
And, you were One Big Blessing!

If my little girls can do it, then so can you!
